I resonate with this message so much because there is nothing I hated more than waiting with no news of a world or story I fell in love with which ends incomplete with no news of a sequel. I am going be to cutting down on watching many seasonal shows because of this. Good endings are one of my favorite parts of an anime.

Before watching it I was hoping that he would talk about original anime since they are the ones I feel don't have the baggage of source materials behind them and can actually end things in whatever way they want(plus no smug and annoying manga readers). To be honest while I don't want an anime to make up its own ending by skipping several seasons of content and skip straight to the climax, like Ao no Exorcist, I do want a proper narrative end and not somewhere stupid.

i never liked how bleach ended in the anime. manga isn't any better not is a complete story

i would even take a bad ending to incomplete anime
