Though you should avoid the anime, because season 1 stopped before the plot took off, and the second season jumped straight to the second manga series, and only the first two episodes were from the manga. The manga was a bit smutty, but got serious at times, but the anime just focused on harem stuff.

Aah didn't know. It just seemed like a light novel anime. Actually harem anime from that era aren't my cup of tea either so I wouldn't enjoy yeah.
