Also one more thing is that psycho-pass isn't for kids. Psycho-pass is a seinen anime meaning that it's main audience is guys that are 17+. It's not a kids anime at all. Not that it really matters but I thought I'd just put it out there.

I do think it can go with shonen anime except for the gory part you speak of.
As for the thread discussion, illegal content is allowed to get a view about what the true society is.

Psycho-pass isn't that gorey either actually now that I think about it. The most gorey thing I've read is death tube. That shit is crazy, makes psycho-pass look like child's play, in regards to violence.

Well depends on what anime you're talking about. Some animes are more far away from real life than others.
