Anime vs Western Comics?

I've watched more western cartoons than anime as a child, so I'm inclined to choose western cartoons. I grew up with Cartoon Network as my only friend. All the awesome American cartoon shows shaped my childhood. I only discovered anime as a teenager.

What are you doing on this forum then?
LOL! What a question. Not liking something above something else doesn't necessarily means they don't like it at all.

As for me I don't know. Anime and cartoons have been in my life since my earlier days so it is a though choice. I am going to give it to Anime for now.

I just like to point out that anime is tv show/animation. Comics/manga is the reading form of media.

Anyways, I don't read enough comics to say I like them over manga, but I think I rather have manga which can be more detailed.

I think I can agree with you on this.

I didn't even realise we were encompassing manga and comics here.
On that regard it is a bit more difficult. I really like both mediums I feel comics are actually becoming underrated now so I'll give my vote to them but Manga is also pretty good.

So you can't choose?

This is a boring battle.
You really shouldn't post it in an anime forum where people love anime better than comics.

I don't think that anime and Western comics share much in common really. It's a bit like comparing apples to oranges. Comparing manga to Western comics might be a more worthwhile comparison, but they still are very different.

Anime always win the first position for me.
Western comics are childish unlike anime and they are not worth my time.

i don't see much of a distinction besides one of them made in japan and the other made in the west, really with both sides equally guilty of churning out crappy work but also deserve credit for producing some of the best modern pieces of art ever made
