Anime that everyone seems to like and you don't

Exactly what it says. What are anime that everyone seemed to like and that you, despite watching them (important that you at least gave it a chance, even if you didn't finish it), couldn't get into? (I tried looking for a thread like this, but couldn't find one).

Myself, someone I eventually watched after hearing so much good stuff about it was Mob Psycho 100. Sure it was pretty, but imo, that was pretty much all it was. After having watched so many anime, MP100 just felt... incredibly generic.

So, what was popular and yet not to your taste?
 
Clannad and Clannad After Story are beloved in the anime community in general. Strangely enough most people in this forum don't like it a lot. I think it's a decent series at best.
I didn't like Promised Neverland as well and it was a big hit when it came out this year. The on-going Vinland Saga is another example.

As for MP100 why did you think it was generic? It's well-written a slice-of-life character development show that goes into overdrive whenever there's action.
 
I have so many that I'm bound to make some enemies if I list them all in other sites. Some notable ones are Your lie in april/Shigatsu wa kimi no uso, Clannad, Tokyo ghoul, Youjo senki, Clannad, No game no life, Mahoutsuki no yome, Gurren lagan, Re:Zero.
 

It just felt like yet another shonen anime where the hero and his friends have to get stronger and eventually beat the big bad and his 'generals' through flashy cool moves to me. *shrug* I'm sorry.

It's very well possible that despite the fact that it was my introduction to anime, shounen is just not for me. The only shounen I'm enjoying atm are Shokugeki no Souma & Boku no Hero Academia.
 
Gintama.
It is very popular but I just couldn't get into it. I have watched more than 50 episodes before dropping it
 
It would be one piece for me, yes I do follow it but I don't hold the same level of love like I do for Bleach or Naruto.

That I get, it's a genre set in its ways and if you don't like the elements you may not like it but MP isn't shounen.

That's quite a surprise to me.
I never thought people would say that about one piece and hear I thought it's bleach, which couldn't live up to the expectations.

everyone likes shounen
and i think you should try out naruto and one piece for a change.
 

FInished all of of Naruto & Shippuuden, One Piece, eh. It's not like I actively dislike shounen, it's like most of them really do look all the same to me.

i never thought you would watched naruto and shippuden completely. have you watched akatsuki no yona and boku no hero academia?

Naruto was my first anime (perhaps not counting pokemon, like so many of us here), haven't watched akatsuki, and MHA is one of the two shounen I actually *do* really like, the other one being Shokugeki no Souma.

and probably you could give it a try for one piece and bleach too and they are really popular as well and the story is off the charts
