i am not sure
i think it's more about how much the story had progressed in few episodes without too much missed plot.

I think most anime which I watched took a while to develop especially from the beginning. I almost gave up on violet evergarden because the first few episodes were slow and not seeming to go anywhere but I'm glad I stuck with it

evergarden started out slow and it got this aura around it and you can't drop.
