It's wonderful when i need 'friend' to discuss things. Sometimes they give me new ideas, but the most annoying things are they feels like agreeing a lot with us, you know.. sometimes i need someone to argue with me

I'm not the biggest fan of AI, I'll use it here and there and if I have to but I typically don't use it often. My work had us use Copilot to write our mid year reviews and I did use ChatGPT to make my avatar and a banner for one of my forums. (I used a photo of myself and asked ChatGPT to turn me into an anime character lol.)

I think AI, as any tool has the potential to be misused, abused, or leaned on as a crutch (whatever word means that-- I need coffee). I believe that Artificial Intelligence is of great help for quickly summarizing data, or computing complicated mathematical formulas--
I've recently used it to compute the best birth date for each of my Protagonists in the anime novel I'm writing, based on a few personality keywords, and their magical discipline. This is a task that would have taken me potentially months or years to complete (since I'm pretty new to the world of Astrology), AI was able to think for like 17 seconds and give me all sorts of potential background details about the character's potential history! Stuff I probably never would have dreamed up of in the first place. I used AI to fill in a nearly 500 year backstory of timeline points for one of my characters. And I know this task would have taken me months of dedicated time in a library to do all the research I needed for European History. I spent only a few hours over the period of three days instead.
But I draw the line at brainstorming and research. I usually throw away the hypothetical creative garbage that AI generates to help illustrate my character's in my story-lines. Some of it is flat out bizarre, and quite frankly, it's trying to tell a story that I'm not. Someday, I'll figure out how to craft the prompt to tell DeepSeek to not bother to generate example story plots, but for now, I can just ignore them. Another thing to be cautious of is how agreeable AI is. Like the default mode is to just agree for the most part. It pats you on the back, and is very encouraging for your to continue-- almost Dopamine related. In fact, has anybody gotten AI to be argumentative or confrontational, like a conversation with another human being would be? AI lacks opinion. AI is sterile. And AI can be confused very easily. Call it a hallucination if you want, but I've caught AI presenting misleading or flat out incorrect information several times just in my own casual usage-- sometimes conflicting with something it's said beforehand in the same "conversation".
And, I believe that the method AI is being implemented is ultimately bad for the environment and us humans. Not only is it being shoved down our throats-- you literally find it embedded into everything now, but the resources that it must consume so that we can use it, is frightening. Data Centers don't HAVE to use clean drinking water, IF developers (and their OWNERS) chose to spend the extra money to use alternative cooling and electrical generation systems.
Add in all the pure rotten uses that people are doing with AI, such as Deep Fakes of people-- stuff that can literally destroy reputations, and there's very little regulation that's being implemented on AI, only because the ancient politicians whom we're given as choices to elect have no understanding of the power AI has-- combined with the ingenuity of a truly creative person.
I'm hoping that Humanity will implement some wisdom before crap like the Terminator, Matrix, iRobot, or X-Men: Days of Future Past becomes a reality. But what I'm really hoping for is that AI can do the crap that I couldn't be bothered with doing, like taking out the trash or the laundry or servicing whiny customers at the cash register..
