Again: First OP from Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood

MILD SPOILERS FOR FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: BROTHERHOOD!!

I've been collecting opening and ending songs I like from all the anime I watched so that I can listen to them while travelling. It's been a long, long time since I watched Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, which is my favourite anime ever, and I wanted to look at its openings again so that I can collect its songs. I noticed that it has five OP's, and the first OP itself, named Again, is just... perfect. I haven't listened to the first opening yet.
As far as OP's are concerned, while I give importance to the song itself, I only listen to them every episode if the visuals are good. This happened with Mob Psycho 100, One Punch Man, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Attack on Titan, Steins Gate, etc. And this definitely happened with Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.

The visuals in this opening are freaking amazing. Like every single shot has animation that's beyond amazing. There's this badass shot of Edward, for example:

And then there's this amazing shot that tells us what happened to Edward, Elric and Winry that's just beautiful:

At the beginning of the opening, I didn't notice initially that the blonde guy was actually Hohenheim, and not Edward, and it made sense after that, since the first few seconds are basically what happened before the events of the anime. And the action animation in the opening is like amazing as well, which isn't unexpected since this is a Bones show, and they are the King when it comes to action.

Just thought I'd share this when I indulged in a nostalgia trip. Here's a video of the opening:

Hohenheim but not edward? i was positive that it is edward in that scene as he lost his arm but i don't remember much whether he lost his leg or not. i liked the op and it's sad to see alfred losing his entire body

No I was not referring to the gif. I was talking about the actual opening. If you look at the actual opening you'll notice someone really young who looks just like Ed but he's actually Hohenheim.

he really isn't ed? it looks like him and i can't tell the difference. may be ed looks too much like his father.
i don't think it would have ever occurred to me

Yeah that's young Hohenheim. Besides, that's not Ed's hairstyle nor his attire. Also Grisha, her wife comes right after him, and the shot after Grisha features young Ed and Al(about 4 or 5).
 
Did you only just start rewatching old openings? I mean it's great but not that special as far as openings go.
 Also when did FMAB become your favorite anime?
 


It has always been, alongside Death Note and Code Geass.
Ever since 2017 I never skipped openings, but I think I watched it in like 2015 and back then I had this collection that didn't have openings and endings inserted in them so I didn't even know what they were.
Anyway, I've only watched this opening so far and the visuals are genuinely great in my opinion. Yet to watch other openings.

Opening 5 "rain" is my favorite

i should watch it again and ed looks like father. both of them have get long hair.
i don't remember al having long hair like that

That's definitely not Al, but he does have long hair when Ed meets him in the Gate of Truth.

i don't remember al having long hair when ed got transported to the other world. he had blond hair but a long one

And I cant believe I had a collection that excluded them. I didn't watch the OP's and ED's of every anime I watched till 2016, and that includes all of Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, which I still haven't watched because it's a big rabid-hole, and I missed out on stuff that are now my favourites, like Hacking to the Gate, Higurashi, My Soul Your Beats, Flyers, etc. All because I already had these anime given to me by someone who didn't include the music videos.

As far as FMAB ED's are concerned, I didn't like the 3rd ED, and my favourite is probably Shunkan Sentimental.
