do you guys care about the story beyond the happy ending? i think i do and i really want to see my characters happy even doing mundane things lol

Please note that we already have too many sticky threads.
As for the answer, I don't mind looking at such event for an episode or two.

I would probably watch One piece as I haven't been watching it lately.

That's true.
I do plan to watch all of them without picking up any new anime. So it shouldn't be an issue

when i took a break from naruto before, it took me forever to catch up with the latest episode.

I like happy endings more, but if done well, a bad ending can be just as good.

Although happy endings are nice, I prefer the substance of the story. Real life is rarely happiness, sunshine and rainbows. Seeing fictional characters push through their challenges to achieve, maybe not happiness, but that they're alright is motivating to me.
