Worst anime dad

What up dudes and dudettes (and everyone in between)?:)

I was putzing around Instagram and would see clips of various cons and podcasters asking congoers random
surveys. One that comes up often is "Who is the worst anime dad"? The most popular answers are often Goku
and Tucker from Alchemist. I would like to add the dad in Evangelion and Ivan Dryar from Fairy Tail. Anyone
have their favorites? Just wondering. Peace and, as Ron Burgundy would say, "Stay classy My Anime".:cool:
 
i think that fullmetal alchemist dad who had done experiments on his own wife and child is the truly the worst person and father

I mean, yeah. Obligatory mention for sure, which I think DarkAngel has got us covered. Haha.


Definitely not as egregious but still comes to mind is Genma Saotome, the father from the protagonisg ofRanma 1/2. He doesn't hate his son, but he is pretty selfish and even when he thinks he is working for the good of his son he can be very negligent.
* He's made an oath to his wife that he'd make a a full man of Ranma or they both'd commit seppuku (ritualistic way of taking your own life when you lose your honour) and made his toddler sign a contract on it.
* He agreed on adopting another kid as a fiance for Ranma because of the dole being an ambulant business. He ran with the kart breaking the promise only to blame it on the son when the past came to bite them.
* He threw his son multiple times to a bunch of starved cats while wrapped on fishy food when he was around 7 years old, this to help him develop an important technique (he did not read the whole instructions) aand left Ranma with a severe trauma.
* He took his son to training to an area in China without being able to comprehend the language or the risks involved with is the whole start of the series ordeal.
