Do people even care a lot about character development?

We just see the time skip and boom the character becomes someone powerful and important after ensuring hardships. Do we have any decent character development in the recent anime?

In recent anime? I would say almost certainly not. Recent anime are almost entirely garbage so expecting anything decent from them is a fool's errand.

we don't see elaborated intelligent plots in recent short anime but there are some exceptions lol
