Do you like anime characters with different outfits or with the same outfit?

for me, i might prefer them with different outfits lol
but most of the anime characters stick to the same outfit in the entire anime.

I like when they change up their outfits some but the reason they don't is because it would be too costly to draw al those changes for every eps of anime or every chapter of manga.

i didn't know that kaden.
i thought as every page had to be inked, it wouldn't have much impact but this is an eyeopener for me
Yea right.. like Goku, Naruto and Luffy wear the same outfit for hundreds of episodes
exactly lol

Think about how many expensive man hours are saved by being able to basically cut and past standard models. As someone who regularly draws I can tell you it takes a LOT longer to figure out how to draw a new model even if it's something as simple as a hat then it is to draw something you have done a thousand times. And that's not even counting figuring out the lighting effects or shading or dimensions. Inking is like the second to last stage. A lot goes into a drawing unless you just want stick figures.

i never knew kaden
and i don't remember you speaking about art from before. that's so cool kaden

I'm pretty sure that I've talked about my sketching before. 🤔 Oh well.
lol then age is getting to me. but i shouldn't be feeling so old just yet.
then share some of your art work sometime kaden. i would love to see it.

I feel like keeping outfits the same for awhile works better with selling merch and figures. Which certainly has to play a role in it.

Here is a link to a google album with a mix of some of my early stuff and some of my recent. It's not everything but it's a good mix. Some of the drawings were scanned and some were photographed with my phone so please forgive if some are a little blurry. Oh and ignore the digital WOW art I did, that was an experiment with Paint.net.

Looks pretty good! You got a nice touch of adding little details into the characters.

that looks outstanding kaden
i really like it. and it's so detailed too. painting digitally is even more tricky from what i know

No difficulties with fingers?
Some but not as much. Since I don't do realism I can often get away with outlining or just the first knuckle if they are holding things. I use the same trick for toes by using shoes but when a character is bare foot making toes that look like toes and not some kind of squiggle or a blob of something stuck to the foot is at least for me a bit hard. I do struggle with the hands when I have to draw them with the fingers individualized. The nice thing about chibi though is that you can often get away with just points for the hands and feet. My style is a mix of chibi and character. I mostly do pinups.
