Light novel popularity is popular than anime and manga

Why do you think this is the case? I know the light novels are good but the visual representation of an anime and manga are even better. What are your thoughts on this?

Sounds like the same argument an elementary schooler has when they first read books without pictures.

I wouldn't particularly say that. Most of the light novels are very popular and people stick to them even after knowing the existence of manga and anime.
In fact, most of the manga readers don't like anime.. Especially in Japan which is just surprising to me

So what’s the issue?

High visual representation Vs poor visual representation. Ideally people should go for the former but I don't get why they choose the later
What makes you think it’s more ideal? It comes off like you’re upset and confused that someone doesn’t like what you like.

I like light novels, manga and anime.
In fact, I read light novels way more than anime but I still feel that anime has better visual representation. So I don't get the popularity and the statistics when they are compared

I don’t understand your point with visual representation. You’re throwing that word around, and I’ve seen you use it in two different meanings.

Do you mean that one has more pictures than the other, or one has more advertisement than others?

Pictures and I don't mean advertisement at all. I don't think I was being so ambiguous about the visual representation of the story but I will try to be specific

I’m just confused at what your point is then. Light novels don’t have as many pictures so it shouldn’t be popular?

It should have less popularity when compared to anime and manga but that's not how it is IRL which is confusing to me

But why? Just because it doesn’t have pictures? But why? I still don’t understand your point.

Isn't it obvious or am I the only one who thinks a better visual representation of a story needs more love from the public than the least visual representation of the story?

But you never said why. Why should it?

Am I the only one who believes that it's obvious a higher quality product should receive much more popularity than just text content?
But what makes it higher quality? Because it has pictures? If that’s your entire argument, that doesn’t make it “obvious”, because that’s not a sole indicator of quality.

If you compare a light novel to a manga with a similar genre and the light novel has a better story, why shouldn’t it get more recognition than the manga?

Better story without enough visual representation?
May be it's just me who doesn't comprehend this point.

Your entire argument seems to hinge on the point that you think that manga are superior to light novels because it has pictures. I’m only basing that off the fact that that’s the only point you seem to be bringing up. So I don’t see how having pictures automatically elevates manga to being a superior product to a light novel.

My point is, if you compare two series (one is manga, and one is a light novel), and both are the same genre, but the light novel is better written, why shouldn’t the light novel get more recognition than the manga? You seem to be implying that the manga should have more recognition solely based on the fact that it has pictures.

That's the point that I am trying to make and yet you don't agree with it which is still surprising to me.
I just have to conclude that different people prefer different way of story telling no matter how the visual representation is for it

That’s because you never explained why having pictures makes it a superior product. I repeatedly asked why it’s superior, and you never explained why. You just kept repeatedly saying “it’s obvious” and “it has pictures”. That doesn’t explain why manga is a superior product.

You made a declarative statement with nothing to back it up. When you make declarative statements, you need to put some thought and logic behind it. Not just pull it out of thin air and rely on “it’s obvious”, because it’s never going to be obvious for everyone.

So I’m asking her again, why does having pictures make it a superior product?
