Your opinion on crazy hairstyles in anime?

I don't get why the mangaka make some weird hairstyles like hiding the character's eyes completely or making them have a very weird style to show the world, they are indeed delinquents. Do you like it?

lol mangaka try to make different character designs and when you deal with animation there isn't a lot you can do. they make use of costumes, hairstyles, color of the eyes, hair etc., to make new characters. it's common lol

Well it's all about their creativity, i can't say anything much about creativity and art, i mean.. what's weird for us maybe normal for the author. Same like stuff from Picaso, in reality there's a person who willing to pay big sum of money for his crappy painting

lol no way
i have short hair and it's thinning out with age. there is no way i can do much unless i get a wig lol

I think some of them go the extra mile so their characters stand out more and might deter having their series live action made.

I like the crazy hair styles. It helps to differentiate the characters. I mean, after all, the basic frame and head shape of an anime character is mostly the same, and each anime character needs to stand out, to be memorable.

As an example, I think of Washu from Tenchi Muyo!. Her wild, fluffy, spiked hairstyle is probably one of a kind-- at least I haven't seen it anywhere else, but it totally fits her personality as well. In one word, I can identify Washu because of her hair: Crazy. And she is, after all, a mad scientific genius!

And let's not forget, exaggeration is a key point in anime, it's part of what defines anime itself! Ridiculous, over-the-top hairstyles fit perfectly here.
