Your first Impression of One Piece

We all had that first time we saw the visual art, or heard a friend talking about it. One Piece can easily be discarded or misjudged by its appearance. Like they say, don't judge a book by its cover.

The first time you laid eyes on the manga or watched some of the anime, what did you think?
Did you like it from the very beginning or did the art style turn you off?

I was actually kind of spoiled by my friends before watching it
And at that time I didn't have any likes or dislikes in anime
But if I look at it now...the first episode was pretty good not animation wise...

Well, before watching One Piece, I had watched great anime's like Death Note, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Code Geass, and when I watched One Piece, it fell flat for me...........But, as time passed, I started liking it..........

I found it to be interesting, or rather a pirate version of Naruto.

The first time I watched it, it seemed a bit too lighthearted for my liking, but then the style and the story started to grow on me, and now I enjoy it a lot...

I also agree with this, I didn't think it was going to get serious or dark at times.
