Would you prefer an imperfect protagonist over a perfect protagonist?

I think "the scum" need rehabilitation and redemption, not punishment. I hold the belief that most people do evil because they have had traumatic upbringings and are emotionally hurt. It is very unlikely for people to just choose to do evil if they don't lack anything.

not many of us would throw away everything we know for greater good.

I wouldn't think of them as dark but it's always a good practice to make sure of ones own safety before helping others.

I 100% agree with you! I wouldn't be interested in watching any anime where the main character never gets hurt, or makes mistakes. I don't think many people would, maybe narcissistic people might because they might see themselves in the characters lol.
