Would you like it if Mikasa was written as cheerful happy go lucky girl?

It probably would have ruined AOT. She is the protector and she got a role to fulfill in that anime. I wouldn't have liked her very much if she is that way.

Haha, that's the point exactly because the combination of both traits wouldn't really suit what the character was essentially expected to fulfill in the anime.

Exactly, you get what I'm driving at. It's such a wonderful set up in my opinion. Yazawa Nice is going to be a good fix from the looks of it.
