Would you like a protagonist to be selfish?

but selfish enough to think of only about him and nothing more. what do you all say to it?

Should it matter in the end?
Everyone is selfish to a degree and I don't think anyone exists who are not selfish in anyway out there. I don't mind protagonist to have some selfishness in him/her as long as it didn't reach greed.
