Why does Luffy want to defeat yonko?

why does he want that? he doesn't gain anything by defeating them and they don't all have ponyglyphs like big mom.
i don't get why he wants to even defeat shanks
 
Alliance with Law and Kaido's connection to Doflamingo. Also because Kaido is ruling Wano now so to help Kinemon and others as well.

he wanted to defeat shanks even from before and he got no beef with shanks.
shanks never stood in his way and why does he still want to fight with him?

To become Pirate King is not just to get One Piece from Raftel but also assert dominance over everyone else.

that doesn't look like a good goal anymore.
it's downright like a thugs way of doing things and did oda really want to take that into his story? i don't like it

It's not like he's a righteous man who's doing service to humanity he's a pirate.

a righteous pirate who tried to always do good.
he never once did anything bad to any innocent

Well everything he's done is for his own good it so happens that he saves a lot of other people in the process.

why did he save vivi?
she hasn't promised him anything in return but she rescued her kingdom. why did he save those kids from ceasar? they can't give him much

I don't remember Alabasta all that much but he destroyed Punk Hazard to get Caesar. I'm not saying he's a bad guy but that wasn't his primary intent.

i get it but if he fights shanks, everyone will think less of him
he would dare to show dominance to the person, who saved him by losing his hand?

He wants to become the Pirate King that's why and Shanks did say they'll fight one day.

he is very selfish.
i don't want them to die or get defeated. luffy would win but it loses many things.
