Why do some apps break the internet connection?

I have been using moon reader to read books. Recently or more like I have observed after all this time that, it is breaking my internet connection for a few seconds when I use it.
Even opening and closing it would make my Samsung music to go to pause state.
It's weird.
Anyone faced these issues before?
 
i never heard of them like this before. are you sure? how did you know that they are breaking the connection?i am confused

Well, i am positive that my connection is breaking as I get the "no internet access" message at the end, every time I open that app
 
Weird problem.. To some apps, for me , my VPN connection would turn ON automatically and the internet would slow down drastically.

VPN apps are no good at all. I wouldn't recommend them but with our speed in our country, it's not a thing we should be using.
As for your problem, you could probably change that in some permissions of that app.

It's a 3 year old phone. Well... only that app is having trouble. So may be it's not because of the device.
I am not so sure at this point

You said samsung right? They should hold up well so maybe uninstall and reinstall the app?

I have done that too.
The same thing persists. I tried updating the app, re-installing the app. I don't know how else to fix it and I am really used to it, to change it now.
