Why do some anime get all the attention?

I have been trying to understand this but I don't get it. How come only some anime always stand at the top? They gain attention because of the studio or voice actors.
 
Once they have been in or made a popular series people tend to watch their other works assuming they will be making anime of equal or better quality.

I do agree but too many anime with the same concept would make them boring. I never expected people to follow something because it is popular first.

But people start with the popular stuff because thousands of other people all agree that its good so if they all think its good it must be right? If you go to MAL and you've never watch anime before you are bound to find something in the top 100 that would interest you.
 
Something just becomes so hyped everyone wants to jump on it and enjoy it with all their time, this of course leads to lesser anime not getting the desired attention they deserve.
 
Well, sometimes popularity is everything. Make the most of the time. People would do something when everyone's doing the same around the. I don't really trust popularity in anime. I take recommendations and then read the plot before deciding on something.
 
no matter how much i wished for more yaoi anime they won't get. not many liked that genre and are biased with love. i can't tell much but everyone is fuked up in this world
