Why do people compare sequels to the prequels always?

don't you think it's unfair?
if the anime want to take the story to a new turn, they are often held back because of this. why do people always compare these sequels to prequels and get disappointed?

Sequels are watched by people who have watched the prequels. It's common knowledge to compare them and it's not even intentional in many cases, unless the sequel is very bad.

i agree to it but i don't expect a better quality from sequel.
i just expect the same quality to be maintained. is that so bad?

Because it linked, or at least they are share same title
This made my day.
Some titles are very different man. They share only a past of the title like fate stay series

Then maybe the stories are linked?
They are linked man but like Macross, each time the characters change and we see a very story.
They get annoying after a while

That's cool man.
I usually pick a long series and most of the time, long series are always interesting to some extent

it's not good to only pick a long series.
you must have picked dragon ball too. was it good? it might have been great for people of that era not now it can't get that ratings if it get released now
