Why are guys not fine with *beta* protagonists and yet fine with a$$hole protagonists

what do you think? i am sure many people wouldn't want to see a less than hero like protagonists for a main character and yet they don't mind completely a$$hole protagonists. what are your thoughts about it?

but a jerk is not a good option to like and i prefer a beta protagonist even if he is wimpy

You’re a fujoshi, so no surprise there. Assholes are more entertaining than beta males in action shows. Who wants to watch an action show where the protag is crying over “uuurrrrrrgh violence”?
 
I don't have any such preferences
Still if the main protagonist is always trying to avoid what needs to be done, then I don't think it will be pleasant to watch in an anime

and i don't mind if someone wants to retreat strategically grungie and that's called being smart. dying like a dog is not good lol
