Which character has the best backstory in your opinion?

It can be any character from any anime.

As for me, I believe that would be Luffy. I never imagined him to be the son of Dragon.

What about you guys?
 
Hm.. i like a few

Taro Komori from Ghost Hound. He and his sister were kidnapped when they were kid, he survive the incident but his sister died in captivity. I like this kind of unique backstory, not everyone have this kind of experience 

Ayanami Rei from Evangelion. She is manufactured human from the remains of Shinji's mother, a vessel for soul of Lilith

Johan Liebert. I don't need to explain about this guy, his backstory is pretty dark

Not everyone will have such back stories
