When was the first time you felt like you've been an anime fan for a long time?

It had happened to me when people said something about Clannad being an old anime. It's not 90's anime sure but it's not a recent anime no matter how good the entire anime story is. That's when I felt that I have been an anime fan for a long time and I watched it a very long time ago

when people didn't know about the anime i watched from a while back, it made me realize just how old i am and how long i have been watching anime
