What's fair anime comparison according to you?

So, what do you think is the fair anime comparison? Does it have to be of the same genre?
For me, I believe it's all about the aura xD

Depends on what we are comparing. If it is art, music, voice acting, or storyboarding all anime can be compared equally. If we are going for storyline it really needs to be of the same genre. Hard to compare a slice of life anime to a fighting/action anime.

That makes sense.
Usually people compare anime based on their popularity alone and that's not fair... At all

As long as the author is not biased then it can be a fair comparison and I am sure many people would think criticizing just one anime can make others feel tat it's biased but that's not it.

It can be good as long as one anime is not getting roasted in this so called 'fair' comparison. Some people try to compare only to roast their disliked anime.
