What was the first anime that you watched and did it get you into anime?

As for me, that would be Heidi and that would be a no for me.

Outside of typical Pokemon/Yu-Gi-Oh/Beyblade as a kid the first one I properly watched knowing it was anime was Azumanga Daioh, and it did succeed in getting me into anime for a few years.

but i think it's pokemon but back then i didn't know that it was an anime.
