What is the perfect score for average anime?

I believe a 6 or a 7 would be perfect for an average anime.

What do you guys think? Do you feel the same?
 
Well if it’s a scale of 1-10. 5 is mathematically the middle. 6 would be slightly above average, and 7 is pretty good, but has aspects that wouldn’t be for everyone.

I believe people I know usually wouldn't watch an anime that's got a rating of below 7, Grungie :D
I wouldn't watch an anime of rating about 5 either.

It’s a combination of a couple of things. People take MAL scores too seriously, despite there being serious flaws with those types of aggregate sites. People also don’t understand the concept of niche anime and think everything has to appeal to them.

I see.
I did pick an anime having a rating of 5.7 before and I regretted picking it up. I don't even remember the name now.

i know some people who gave bad ratings to bl anime just because someone recommended it to them, to pull their leg.
like boku no pico and i am not saying it's great but women love that $hit

it's so graphic and a yaoi fan like me would like that graphic representation when compared to the manga
 
I usually give a 6 to anime I find average. The extra point over 5 is if I find it entertaining. I used to give average anime a 7 when I was a lot younger. These days I don't score anything unless I'm writing a review which unfortunately requires a number at the end of it because that's what people usually focus on.

6 is a low rating according to many
i really don't think people usually pick such anime which is totally unfair to the series

Even though 5 is the middle of ten I agree with star and you...I think my score for an average anime would be around 6 to 7 as well
