What do you think of dubbed songs?

There are some songs, which are translated from one language to another language.
We see this in many occasions especially related to anime. So, what do you think of them?
As for me, some dubbed songs are good but some are not as they improvise the entire music and that makes it, lose it's importance.
 
Dubbed songs if done properly are great. It allows more people to appreciate it. But most of the time, they try to force the translation it messes up the song. The rhythm sounds forced and it doesn't really fit anymore. Sometimes, it just sounds funny in a different language.
 
Considering that I don't understand the words in the original language, I cannot really compare the translated version to the original. Many of the dubbed anime intro songs I have listened to are quite well-made. For example, the intro to Pokemon Black and White is really awesome:

If we are not talking about anime, then I hate it, for the other type, not sure.  In the 2nd case, the audience is getting ripped off, but some bands like Milli Vanilli in the 80s, got away with it and still got famous.
