What do you prefer MC is "evil" from the start ,or if he/she starts off "good" then becomes "evil"?

what do you prefer lol?
most people dislike the later choice a lot from what i know. and something i don't like it too
 
I can't pick one.
As long as the story is good, I don't mind it all that much but if that's not the case, then the first option is better.
