What do you expect in romance anime?

is it bad to expect a cliche but heartwarming story?
i liked clannad but may be i wouldn't be impressed by similar stories now.

Just a plain old simple ending with no tearjerkers and a happy ending. I don't want any drama or extreme heartbreaks at the end, even if it's a harem anime. That's what I look for in romance anime.
