What are some anime that tried to make you sad but failed miserably

There are many reviews about how sad it is, but I don't see the sad part all that much.

Many people I know believe it's the saddest anime ever and I just can't agree with that.
Wolf's rain is far more sad.

I think the character interactions and slice of life elements are what make that series work. I have that same problem with Clannad too.
