What anime has comedy that ruins the story?

I don't think there are too many anime like that.

I can only think of Shaman king but the puns aren't too bad. What about you guys! Do you have any anime in your mind? If so, do share it here

Nothing in concrete comes to mind. I guess in general timing is crucial. Some moments of light hearted moments can be welcomed to balance oyt an otherwise grim chapter, but it has to be tastefully and with good time so ut flows well.

So I guess for me is usually when rather than changing to a different setting (like a clumsy character withtheir sub-plot elsewhere) it is a character in the same location whete the heavy stuff is happening and the clash is too big between the two different moods so instead of complimenting each other they detract the impact that each coukd potentially have had.

i can't think of a single instance where comedy ruined an anime. @grungie @ace @blackrose can you think of one?

Nope...my anime knowledge is limited but I have never come across this..most humor was timed properly from the ones which I saw

I met this before, but in manga. The author irresponsibly throw a comedy in a very serious plot, kinda annoying and distracting

what's that manga name whitey?
do you remember it? what's the robot in your avatar?

The author is actually the one who make Monster so it's actually good

I never thought about it either but had to to answer this lol

I wouldn't say it ruined it, but the comedy of Naruto (one of the first anime I ever watched) was definitely the worst part of it. Well, that or the filler. But a lot of the filler *was* comedy, so I'm sticking by my answer XD
