Tragic anime

Tragedy doesn't sit well with many people.
The same goes to me too but some anime are good even though they highlight tragedy.
Do you know such anime?
If so, please share it with me :D

Uh, can you be more specific? Like, can the anime have a happy ending even though the story is tragic?

I want a tragic ending to be exact.
Not everyone finds happiness at the end after all.
A bit like wolf's rain :D

It depends on the definition of tragic ending, then.....
Like, Code Geass ending is not exactly happy, because Lelouche dies, but, it's not tragic either, because the chain of hatred is dissolved....
Similarly, with Angel Beats, Death Note, Fate/Zero, Zankyouu no Terror..... Phantom: Requeim for the Phantom fits the definition of an anime having a tragic ending, and is a great anime......

Fruits Basket is lightly tragic if you consider Kyo's transformation into a Monster of some sort and Tohru not getting scared of him.

Except for Phantom: Requeim for the Phantom, I have watched all the above anime :D
Thank you for the recommendations madara.

It's a shojo anime and I am not really interested in that genre :D
Anyway, thank you for the recommendation.

Mainly shojo yes, but it has some tragic elements in it.

Well, if you say you want a tragic end, just watch to "School Days" and you'll be shocked for your entire life. :D
