Trafalgar law and his real intentions

Law's meain is to bring down donflamingo.
In order to do that, he needed to destroy the "Smiley" factory to destroy all the man-made devil fruits.

Still, if luffy were to defeat donflamingo, then he doesn't need to do all the wreckage.

So, when luffy decided to take on donflamingo, in order to save the country, why did he tried to stop him? Did he think, luffy can never be able to defeat someone like donflamingo? Ir did he think, saving a fallen country isn't worth his time?
What do you guys think of Law?
Where do you think his crew is, at the moment, when he is in this dire state?

I am talking about "Law's" thoughts.
He knows full well, the extent of donflamingo's powers and the power of bird cage. So, he resigned himself to death right from the beginning. He wants to bring down donflamingo even after his death, by destroying the smiley factory, so that kaido will chase down dongflamingo.

Not yet but sometime in the near future.
For the time being, he might be busy with big mom though.
