is it like anything close to battle threads?
or do you have any other topics, which you wouldn't want to reply to?

Anything regarding Goku being / not being the strongest character in the world

Same, but in general how different characters compare in strength is kinda... bleh.

Will anime become mainstream? Is fanservice bad? Is the manga or anime better? Sub or dub? For the latter two if it's polite discussion or someone who wants opinions before choosing it's fine but it does lead to some toxicity.

You prefer what you prefer. I almost always watch subs, but yeah, people need to learn to be able to talk politely about stuff or just... be quiet.

I find that people aho grew up watching anime on TV or native English speakers usually watch dub, but I'm neither so I watched sub. This outright dismissal of the dub option is pretty silly yeah.

Same, I guess. Non-native English speaker, so yeah.

My favorite part of the dub vs sub argument is that dub watchers are apparently just too dumb to be able to read.

An interesting part of the Dub vs Sub argument, well at least in games because it’s more common, is American reactions to British actors. Basically if it’s not a stereotypical BBC accent, they think it’s an American doing a poor attempt at doing an accent.

They still do, go to a dub trailer and enjoy seeing comments “critiquing” how every line muttered in that 30 second trailer was spoken wrong, and that every Japanese actor is a shining beacon of perfection.

While not exactly verbatim, it’s not really an exaggeration.

They'd hate my accent then haha! I'm faaaar off the standard BBC accent

You should see the reactions people have to the character of Gemma from Dragon Quest 11. She’s got a West Country accent, which is jarring for a lot of Americans, so a lot of them thought it was Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins all over again.

lol in just 30 second trailer
these guys can be so picky lol and i am sure there will never be a good trailer at this rate.

I think if you type out a lengthy critique of a 90 second trailer, it makes your opinion seem more “valid”, I just think they’re trying too hard.

lol and who would read a lengthy critique in general?
not me and i would think that's just a big obnoxious a$$hole who doesn't like anime all that much
