Didn't know it had an English dub, I would have watched it a long time ago if I had known that. The original apparently has a lot of references to Japanese stuff I know I wouldn't understand so I guess I'll check it out soon.
But, I'm not really sure what Toonami is going for here to be honest. They should have gotten something like Haikyuu or Attack on Titan.

I don't even recognize those characters . Are they meant for children? I am not sure sure whether I would even consider it watching, after seeing that animation

Actually pop team epic does kind of fit Toonami or rather its hosting block [adult swim] which from what I understand, pte is very similar in content to Robot Chicken.
