Too wide smiles in anime

do you think some characters smile too wide?
i have seen that in one piece and in naruto too and it's not possible to smile that much.
 
I think it's fine, to be honest. I think it'd be pretty hard to show certain expressions using realistic facial expressions

but sometimes it can make it look too fake.
 
That's pretty common
It's to make people feel happy the moment they see the main protagonist on the screen.

and i didn't think you would want to feel emotionally attached too but i can just imagine you doing that
