Will you add something to make people be able to login using their facebook or twitter profiles?
It's easier that way than to make a profile and wait for the email activation to reach the inbox.

I would like that sort of thing and I have seen that in other forums.

I keep on saying that to people here.
Most of the admins and mods don't reply unless they got tagged.
That's the way it is here.
@Sindar @MelloLily @MadaraUchiha @Ace

This is a good suggestion too. I would have loved it. I could use my fb login in that way

how ruuude i do see these i just never know how to reply to the suggestions lel, the only thing that could be wrong about logging in with twitter or facebook is people might be added by people they don't know through the "contact info" area if it save's their profile to facebook and ect. here It's happened to me before on a server

The only person you needed to tag here is @Claraviolet, only she knows whether or not it is technically possible or easy to implement :P

I don't think this is possible for MyBB, it's a completely separate platform, but I'll look into it. (Can someone send me a PM when they see this reminding me to look into it? I've got to get to class, otherwise I would do it now.)

Than tell her and torture her until she gives in

Quoting works too.
This is to remind you about this. I have checked out various articles and this is possible.

I don't have the program to do it myself, so either she directs me to the download to get it on my computer, or she gets the Plugin Uploader.

Well, she is like a super-admin, and you'd automatically know the restrictions placed, when you just skim through the admin page......

well a plugin is basically an add on for program ie this forum....a downloadable feature.. that was not part of the forum origianlly.

very similar when you download an extension like addblocker on chrome, same principal.

im assuming clara has set restrictions for admins i mean you dont want everyone to be able to access forums code and other important features.

so it depends what permissions they have. like they wont have all the options clara has.

To make it simple, plugins add features to existing forums/sites.

got it my lady xD
so can i have any feature that i like and you approve then?

you can't access all that stuff as an admin?
what can you do bro? can you delete, ban peeps? what are the features that are out of your reach bro?

I don't think we need that.
it takes less than a minute to register and adding plugins will increase the page loading time. Not to mention that just one facebook plugin would be enough. There are two other popular social media plugins like twitter and google +. If we give in now, we will have to add them eventually and that would be really a waste of time and effort. Still, if you want me to, I will add them.

By now probably this has been figured out but just in case, Sebastian, when people talk about the Core they mean the forum software without any kind of customization. Usually admins will add some new functions (plug-ins) that didn't come with the original software. They can be anything, from something simply to expand in moderation options to something we can enjoy like being able to choose our mood, or for the suggestion, to be able to link our accounts with facebook to login with it.

Even though staff has the same rank, the founder of the forum usually is the only one able to access the database and the server. I don't remember much of MyBB but if it is like in Xenforo, to install any plug-in you need to download the files and manually insert them into the plugin folders in the server. So what MelloLily suggested was to install a plugin that automatically gets and install the archives witha click for you. This way Clara wouldn't need to get the files and upload them herself from the server. the plugin would do it directly through the ACP.

Anyway, I like the idea. It'd make easier to keep track.

I hadn't noticed your reply, and you're right. It might be the case people will expect more than just Facebook. Although I'd like to think facebook is the one used the most.
Also I would like to amend, I like the plugin not much because of registration but because that helps me keep logged in if I am logged to FB in the device I am using to visit the forums. It becomes a one click login.

I think people are more likely to login via facebook than to register. It is way better when you don't need to come up with a password and such.

Melo agrees with me but your point is valid too. So, how about adding just facebook plugin first?
Depending on the usage, we will add other social plugins later.
