I've been read manga and watch anime since i was kid, some are good and some are bad but some are exceptional. What makes a series exceptional for me? When the series so good and makes me absorber into it, forming emotional attachment between me and the series.

Kingdom (manga)
This series is seriously quality stuff. I was so absorbed into the story, i can feel pressure, suspense and desperation in every war, even the rally scene makes me energized and pumped up, even the political battle in the court makes me excited. This series is magical

I am A Hero (manga)
This series makes me cry, so it tells you a lot how much attachment i made with this series. Character is the main weapon of this series, it presented very excellent that i can feel how they feel and it emotionally drained me. I'm still lamenting about Hiromi even now. This series is seriously magical

Gantz (manga)
Gantz.. just like I am A Hero, character is the key factor. I was so absorbed into characters of Gantz, so many likeable characters. Seriously.. when i read Gantz i literally cheering up for them to not get killed, i want them to stay alive! I never feel like this before, if a character die then they die, that's it. This series is very magical

So.. do you have series that absorb you so much? If do, please share

Death Note, black lagoon and Code geass to name a few for me. Their characters were awesome to get to know and I just wanted to see more and more of it!

Those are nice title. Last scene about Misa Akane bit confusing to me, what happened to her? My DVD on that episode didn't have subtitle

Pretty much all the first few I seen since it was so new and fun but I still occasionally find a series that I get really dedicated to.

Can you give some examples? I'm curious about those series

Cowboy bebop, steins gate and attack on titan were some I watched early on that I really got dedicated to.

Most of my favourites are stuff I saw when I got into anime and usually the series that absorb me are something that have rewatch value, or really atmospheric(which tend to be slow-paced and I don't rewatch them). So probably Death Note, Code Geass, Steins Gate, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brothood.

Oh.. focusing on story telling and plot development are you? Kinda similar to me

Probably character development more so than plot development, I don't really need an over-arching narrative to enjoy something, I like episodic anime too.

Yes that's important too, great story won't be that great if characters are shitty
What is episodic anime?

Anime that doesn't have an overall story and each episode is its own thing. Like Samurai Champloo or Hyouka.

Ah i see.. then Master Keaton and Patlabor can be classified as episodic anime too

If I had to pick I would choose Dakaretai and Violet Evergarden but Code Geass would be at the top of that list..I literally could not stop watching Code Geass..As soon as I had a minuet it was straight to code geass lol
@angel and @nameless how about you?
