The problem with Shounen main protagonist

Most of shounen anime main protagonist suffered from these traits : impulsive, stupid, stubborn, obsessed, childish. Things get worse then those traits exaggerated by the author. Like seriously.. is this somekind of blueprint or what? Some of the main protagonist can control/tone down these traits or play it nicely by the help of good script, and ended up likeable (by me), but the rest are 'meh!'

Ichigo is not like that man.
You must have seen him before from bleach. He is not stupid and doesn't eat too much like other popular main protagonists

I agree with that completely man.
And the humor is great in that series despite having a non stupid main protagonist

I'll check newer title to see if this trend still going

I blame the manga publishers, they tend to want characters like this as it seems to sell more in Japan. I guess people just love that type of character.

For years? I hope that they are getting tired of this kind of character, almost every major title main protagonist are like this. We need fresh air

all the main protagonists follow the same script.
overpowered, gifted or come to be gifted after being scorned, stupid, eats lots of food.

This is the reason why sometimes i avoid major titles

The commonality is that most shounen protagonists are teens so it doesn't really seem out of character for them to act that way. I mean if you take other protagonists who are relatively older, like Kenshin or Kujo Jotaro, their personality is more on the mature side.
But fact is shounen is aimed at teens so this way I guess they are a bit more relatable for them. And there are subtle differences between each protagonist and for me personally it's about what they evolve into I usually put up with characters and their personalities in their initial episodes.
Deku from My Hero Academia did come across as whiny and annoying for a lot of people but he is now a much better character.

Well that's true.. you're right about what you said. I might be okay if i read them when i was teen, but at this point it become annoying. In my case when i dislike a protagonist from the start then it Will be quite hard to like them, some case i like them at first then i turn out dislike them in the middle of the story, only Gon that i have no problem liking him
