What do you think of it?
I am sure it is not done right in many anime. Samurais are a little rare. Anyway, do you like them?

There’s an entire genre dedicated to them.

I am not referring to samurai like we find in One piece anime.
I am sure there are some characters in anime but not that many from what I see

I never mentioned One Piece, I’m talking actual samurais being a genre of its own, aka chanbara.

I see.
Didn't know that at all and to be honest I have never heard of that before.

There’s plenty of famous and popular samurai anime, and it’s always been a genre staple over there in non anime related stuff like movies and TV shows. A lot of them have a similar feel to the American Western genre (aka cowboys or Wild West) to the point where Seven Samurai was redone as The Magnificent Seven.

Well, I don't usually watch even anime movies.
From what I know they are rare in anime series. Ruroni Kenshin, Samurai Champloo etc., Are some exceptions

I’m telling you they’re not rare. Judging from most of these threads you make, you don’t really watch a lot of different anime.

Probably yes.
I stick to safe genres like action anime and I really don't want to try anything else

You could try expanding your tastes, so these threads you make can look less, for a lack of a better term, uneducated.

Some threads like that historical one you had recently are fine, since most historical anime stick to the popular Warring States or Meiji Restoration period. The threads that are about anime tropes can be easily avoided by not watching a singular genre and associating that with an entire medium.

An equivalent would be like your only experience with American TV shows are sitcoms with laugh tracks, and you’re making threads saying “how come all American shows have laugh tracks?”. Then the answers will always be “um... watch something that’s not a sitcom?”

Well, most of the fans I know watch Shonen and action.
People in MAF anyway. So I try to post whatever that comes to my mind but thank you.
I will think about it

Most shows in the same genre will recycle a lot of the same tropes, because that’s basically how genres work. So if you’re tired of seeing the same tropes, the remedy is watch... something else.

Also I’ve noticed that quite a few regs on MAF watch shows other than battle anime, and some have openly stated they don’t care for it, so it’s not like you’ll have a shortage of topics.

I see.
Not sure if I am going to like the other genres and I am not into romance and tragedy these days.

There’s tons of other genres besides those. Anime does cover every genre known to mankind, and some combinations nobody’s heard of before or since.

lol star
and don't you like samurai? they are very cool and i really like them lol
mihawk in one piece is so cool

I'm pretty fond of Shinsengumi in anime like Hakuouki and Peacemaker Kurogane. Dororo is also good, and don't forget Ronin Warrior lol
