No one will allow others to make their own topics about their own sites.
Who in the right mind would even allow that? Sorry for being rude, but this is beyond me and people using this is just too idiotic and stupid to not to care.

I agree with this too but too damn bad that they won't hear what we have to say.
Many people said these things before but it fell to deaf ears.
:cheers:

Well, the explanation that I can give is that, to be able to advertise, you have to have 500 posts, at least(it's given in the 'rules' thread), and that would take a long time...... Well, I don't mind if this section is taken down, but, others have to agree...... We can have a compromise, though..... We can raise the minimum required number of posts to 750 or 1000, and that's a humongous task...... What do you think, @Sindar @MelloLily @Claraviolet ?

I thought we are over this >.<
Do we have to talk about this? Well, those posts are not added in the global statistics...so what's the problem here anyway?

Alright, fine, then......

I am against the advertising thing too
I don't know much not even one single person who advertised there deserved a thread there.
not even one ;-;

I've seen advertisement sections for sites where it worked well for both parties involved, and I've seen it not work out. Personally on my forum I don't have an advertisement board because it detracts potential users away from your site. Anyway, I'm going to stay neutral on this and let Clara, Star, Sindar, Madara, etc. decide.

Though I have to say, it is extremely selfish of people to come here, advertise their sites, and not allow the same to be done on their sites.

500 posts is already a good realistic number any member hyper poster or not can eventually reach. It is demanding. I consider myself an ongoing member that has been around and engaged enough to be known here, yet I am far from it. It is not a complaint, I think it is fair, but a bigger amount of posts than that as a requirement is just too much to make the zone worth having. Might as well just sticky the threads in the member discussion area or something as they will be counted with one hand.

The problem is not statistics, but that many members don't find the zone to be of any advantage to AMF, on the contrary, they fear it is detrimental as it can potentially tempt people away. Maybe making part of the rules to post that if they post here they must allow you to post back on their own website would make it fair, as it turns it a two-way street.

As you guys know, I tend to defend this zone, because I think the paywall is enough and thus, I see it more like a zone to share other projects we're into more than just a slam and run. But browsing around and seeing the same posts over and over... I've changed my mind.

I think you are carrying dead weight. This zone barely gets used as it is and even the posts requirements have done nothing to calm the distrust that some members have towards anything advertised there. once upon a time I looked forward to share my own project here, because the idea of yes, having a few of you trying it would make my day, but upon from what I've read you'll just think I am trying to take you away from AMF so I am not going to touch it at all.

So, I've heard that many of the staff doesn't even approve of the zone and they discourage it being used, and judging for the other thread about the VIP you don't even know what to do with it anymore. If it is not helping. If it is not being used. If you're not happy with it just axe it. Take it down.
