So, the first episode of SAO Season 3(also known as Alicization) aired today. In my opinion, it was really stupid and boring for the most part. The first half was kinda intriguing with a different setting but after that it becomes SAO again, with exposition dumps over coffee tables, and contrived writing. Our Jesus-kun Kirito who's a master in hand-to-hand combat in real life struggled against a guy with a syringe. The animation was amazing though, not denying that. But boy those details regarding Rath and the Ful-dive systems were so boring and unnecessary and really convoluted.
By the way, this season adapts like 10 volumes so it's gonna be split into two, with this part airing till March with 24 episodes, then takes a break in Spring 2019, and then resumes in Summer from July and airs till December for another 24 episodes for a total of 48 episodes.
