Stupid main protagonist vs smart main protagonist

All the main protagonists in action anime are stupid.. .Mostly.
It's a bit overly used. Do you feel the same?

I actually find that kinda nice...it's like the idiot being the hero...pretty typical yea but I still like the idea of it for some reason

Well, I suppose that's got some sort of charm but still....
Well, I just don't get it much. They are just too overpowered
 
i like characters who are good and don't get all the screentime. overpowered is what you get from all the anime unless it's not action genre

lol hey we all have our likes hun. Just because I like it doesn't mean that you would ::) I just like the kind of underdog rising stories and where the nerd or weakling shines through. Btw how's your vacation going? Hope that you are having fun :)
 
I don't know about Luffy but Naruto, Ichigo ain't stupid. They are just stubborn. Plus they are smart too. Everybody in leaf village believed naruto was a stupid kid, except Iruka initially. Ichigo doesnt give a fuck to the consequences like he barges into the fight no matter how tough the opponent is.. it's his nature and that's quite cliche to almost any MC out there.
So them being stupid for real is just a Genjutsu.
 
I'll admit its a bit over done, but leaves room to do a lot with the story as far as character growth goes. As in either wise up or be so stupid they are smart.

Yup. But still, it gets boring after a while
 
@claraviolet  glad that you are back. Sorry to hear it wasn't much fun but at least it wasn't a complete disaster :)
