So.. who do you think start the trend of typical Shonen main protagonist cliche?

Looking back at anime/manga, main protagonist was not naive, dumb, impulsive, obsessed, happy go lucky, big eater, good heart and filled with justice. Yup this is the era of Fist of North Star, Kujaku Out and the likes of them, it was late 80's and early 90's but now every mainstream Shonen use that same blueprint

Who pioneer that cliche? I give my vote to Goku, kid Goku is somehow match the qualification

dragon ball is exceptional and it's the first anime.
it's easy to capture attention for the first anime but not late

it's one of a kind and even pokemon too. everyone knows about about them but we can't say the same about naruto

Well it's apply on Naruto and other anime as well, lot of episodes doesn't mean the quality is good

lots of episodes wouldn't get aired unless it's good
if it gets boring then it's going to get dropped like bleach
