Should the One Piece anime take a break?

I've talked to a few people on other forums who say that the One Piece anime is struggling. Since the start of last year the anime has been borderline filler episodes where content is recycled throughout episodes through flashbacks and recaps (they even re-introduced previews).


Do you think that the anime should take an extended break, let the manga get far, far ahead, have more people pick up the manga and bring hype to the animes return later on down the track? :what1:

problem with that though is, they may not get the same staff back who are currently animating the show. But they either need a extremely long filler arc so the manga can get ahead or possibly take a year or two off like Fairy Tail did.
