Shonen vs Seinen

To be honest, I prefer shonen.
Seinen isn't my cup of tea and I don't like things to get intense...so....what about you guys?

Haha.. this is topic that i like. My current self prefer Seinen, i see whole different world on Seinen. So far generally they have better story and characters, it match my taste, i only dissapointed on three titles which all of them are 'borrowing' the blueprint of 'mainstream shonen main protagonist' from Shonen

I admit that sometimes Seinen a bit overplaying violence and sexuality in some series which make the audience uncomfortable, but personally i don't have any problem with that

Doesn't matter. Both of them are technically age-groups and the genre definition is really vague. I don't mind gore or nudity so as long as the anime itself is good I'm fine. My problem with seinen is when it pretends to be "deep" and comes off as pretentious.
And with shonen I guess when it's cliched which doesn't happen all that often these days. Lots of gems in Shounen anime in this decade, particularly the last 3-4 years.

That's the thing. Over the years I've seen these manga and light novel readers complain about stuff that have been excluded and more often than not they tend to be things that didn't even need to be there. People just like to complain about adaptations all the time that's their nature. It's the same with book to movie adaptations. I've seen a lot of dumb LoTR book fans complain about the movies and excluding really pointless chapters like Tom Bombadil.

Anyway it's difficult for me to switch to an inferior medium after watching anime for so long.

About inferior medium, it's more like your personal experience and taste, don't generalized people

Well you know.. i've seen anime for years too, but now i tend to read more mangas, i don't meet difficulties to switching, but then again that's my personal experience
