Seinen. Anime and Manga

Last night i talk with Madara about Seinen and i feel kinda inspired to write this..

Okay, Seinen. The best platform to enjoy Seinen is surely manga. Why? Because you can fully enjoy the experience and vibe, and savor the story and characters in their best flavor

What's the problem with watching Seinen manga? Surely 'Shonenization', i can't exactly explain what is this 'Shonenization' but Seinen in anime platform losing it charm. Inuyashiki, Gantz, Tomie feels like an 'ordinary' series on anime platform, not to mention about Gantz that only animated third of entire series which is not even touch the best part of Gantz, or to be blunt.. it just weak display of true Gantz

The only series that didn't seems to 'half ass' is the series that 'borrowing' concept from Shonen like Parasyte and Tokyo Ghoul. Well.. about Tokyo Ghoul, the manga itself didn't have Seinen vibe at all

So that's it. The best platform to Enjoy Seinen is manga. If you have doubt about 'depth' and 'richness' of Seinen, then read Seinen series that 'unlucky' not having anime adaptation like 20th Century Boys,  Boys on the Run, I am a Hero, Ressentiment and Homunculus, then comeback again to have discussion

Conclusion : It's not like i dislike Shonen, of course i enjoy it too. I just want to make clarification that Seinen is not that bad, it actually 'rich' and 'deep'. Most people can't see the 'richness' and 'depth' because the best of Seinen run to live adaptation (which is suck!), and people only see Seinen in anime platform which is 'half ass' and have losing their charm, or for some audiences the violence and adult content become obstacle to truly enjoy them. So.. in the end, i'll say this once again, Seinen true power and their best arsenal lies in manga

Let me tell you one thing: Seinen isn't a genre, it's an age group. There's no genre conventions to it because it's not one at all. Tokyo Ghoul is a seinen because it's published in a seinen magazine, Weekly Young Jump. You know what else is published there? One Punch Man. Yep, OPM is also a seinen manga.
The reason why Shonen seems to have a lot of genre convention is because the most popular of them have come from the same magazine, Weekly Shonen Jump and it's the result of what they want.
Otherwise, I think your point of "shonenization" is a myth. Seinen series don't exactly have to be "deep" or "rich". They can be whatever they want.
That's why a high school comedy like Kaguya-sama or Sakamoto desu ga are as much Seinen as dark epics like Berserk and Vinland Saga. And mind you Vinland Saga has an adaptation going on right now which is pretty amazing but I guess it won't be if you go in with pre-conceived notions like the anime not living up to the manga.

Hm.. no. Shonen is still pretty friendly, at least for the mainstream i know, i don't know the recent one though. Well Attack of Titan do have some 'dark' vibe on it

Hm.. what is the best words to describe. I do feel different, i'll let you know after i can converse my feeling into words

Lots of shonen anime have dark vibes in it though. Even Hunter x Hunter is more closer to a seinen than a shonen. Bleach and Naruto have a lot of dark moments and are pretty bloody. I guess seinen more often than not includes proper romance stories as well.

Have you heard of Josei genre?

Most of the time seinen is overrated.
They try to include dark themed plot which doesn't make much sense, most of the time

I only noticed AoT, D Grayman and Claymore for being bit dark. I haven't seen Bleach, and you know my opinion about Naruto.. they are good if Kishimoto change Sasuke completely

Romance.. in my favorite series there is romance on them, Boys on the Run actually all about romance

I've heard Josei, still confused about the difference between Josei and Shojo

Well, I don't mind gore all that much but I do mind other things.
So I can't really take up a seinen manga knowing this.

Corresponds to Seinen and Shonen respectively.

Read 20th Century Boys, that's one of the best
not one manga
seinen manga in general lack originality and most of them tey to overcompensate for not having a good story with deep troubles.
