Sazae-san is the worlds longest running Japanese anime which started airing its episodes in 1962. 

57 years later, due to COVID19, they have stopped airing new episodes and people are going for re-runs. 

What strikes me is the fact that this show found enough fuel to run for 52 years!

Oh my.. the virus really hit us hard. Anyway it's interesting, i thought that the longest running show is Golgo 13
Maybe i should take a look at Sazae-san, i've seen stuff from 70's but i haven't watched anything from 60's
 
Correct me if I am wrong but I also believe that Sazae-san started out as a manga series, as early as 1946: this means that they have another 16 years of content to their name. They must have incredibly talented writers to be able to do this and make 7000 episodes for the anime series. It is a shame that they are unable to make more despite their Guinness world record.

Do you think they will go back to making episodes as normal?
 
Sazae-san is basically just a sitcom. I saw It like 20 years ago, but you’re not really missing anything.
